דרצנה דרקו
 
"עץ הדרקון" או "דקונית" כפי שדרצנה זו מכונה בעולם הגינון, מגיעה בטבע לממדי ענק מפלצתיים הן בגובה והן ברוחב הגזע,(עד 4 מטרים קוטר גזע).
לדרצנה דרקו עלים ארוכים בשרניים שאינם דוקרניים למגע, צבעם ירוק אפרפר.
הצמח קיבל את כינוייו מהחומר האדום כהה שמפרישים עליו ובעלי דעה קדומה האמינו כי זהו דם הדרקון.
מקורו באיים הקנרים. הצמח פופולארי מאד בגינון הציבורי עקב מיעוט הטיפול הנדרש עבורו. הצמח יחיה טוב בשמש מלאה ומעט מים.
 
Dracaena Draco
 
 
The Dragon Tree as this Dracaena is known in cultivation, can reach monstrous size, in height and width of its trunk (more than 4 meters in diameter).
It has fleshy leaves though swords shaped are not thorny. Their color is grayish/green.
The plant derives it nick name from the dark red color substance that is exuding from its leaves, and superstition believed to be dragon blood.
Its origin is the Canary Isl. And is very popular in public gardening in full sun due to the little care it needs.
